My use case for the Leisure market

Hi community!

Considering the requested additions and the constructive feedback, which has been well received, I feel obliged to share my use case.

I’m currently developing the ultimate camping assistant, specifically designed for campsites and holiday parks. Last summer, I ran a pilot test at a large campsite, and it provided a wealth of valuable insights to work with. Starting in the spring of 2025, I aim to equip a significant number of campsites and holiday parks with this ‘ultimate camping assistant’.

The assistant (and therefore Answerly) stands out primarily for its child-friendly design and the ability to share games and other information directly ‘in-chat.’ It’s quickly becoming almost a full-fledged camping app! Using a separate system, I create personalized games for campsites and their mascots, allowing children (and of course adults) to chat with the mascot, have fun, play a game, and receive serious answers to practical questions.

Previously, I used iframe functionality to display the weather, as the LLM I use (GPT4o-mini) can’t provide real-time information. Now, with API requests, the camping assistant can deliver the weather report in the right tone of voice, making it even better. While this might seem like a small detail—and some may prefer a simple weather widget—it opens up possibilities for specific questions, like: ‘Is it a good idea to have a barbecue tonight?’

I’ve incorporated various safety and motivational features into the assistant to ensure it’s child-friendly and safe.

I’ve created a simplified demo so you can see what I mean, which you can find here:

Feel free to try!

My next steps are:

  • making more use of the API-requests. Weather information is just the start, I see opportunities in booking-information, free tables at restaurants etcetera
  • more multi-media integrations
  • some design tweaks, I had my own background pattern and I removed the reset-button with custom CSS, but these don’t seem to work anymore.

My extra (future) requests:

  • GPT-Vison and image support, it would be great if people can send images for analysis
  • Mobile Web App (PWA) - it would be amazing if people can ‘install’ the chatbot on the homescreen of their smartphone.
  • live-handover inside Answerly without the need of another 3rd party

Well done Campique! Looks great

Live handover inside Answerly would be a game changer (over used term - but appropriate here)

Hi Campique,

Wow, this is fantastic! We’re really excited to see how you’re using Answerly to create such a fun and engaging camping assistant. It’s great to hear that your pilot test went well, and the features you’ve added are impressive. We’d love to share your use case with others as a great example of what’s possible with Answerly.

Regarding the CSS issue, it seems like the background CSS might have been removed by accident. Could you email hi@answerly.io and let us know which widget you applied the CSS to? We’ll get it sorted out.

Your ideas for adding GPT-Vision, image support, and a mobile web app are awesome. We’ll definitely discuss these with our product team to see how we can make them happen.

Thanks for sharing your progress, and keep up the great work!
