Chatbot is now super SLOW - it takes 12 to 21 seconds to answer

Hey Anwerly Team, really apreciate your hard work on Answerly. You are doing an excellent job in solving all the bugs etc.

But something is going terribly wrong with the response time from the chatbots. What we notice is that since about 2 - 3 weeks the bots take a very long time to answer.

To be exact, all our bots take around 14 seconds to answer. The exact same chatbot, with the same knowledge base etc, would answer before within 4 to 5 seconds.

Even your own chatbot on the answerly website takes for every response about 14 seconds. You must have noticed this yourself.

All the other bots we created with tiny little collections of 1 page or massive collections all take at least 14 seconds to answer.

This super annoying. People do not want to wait that long. Here is our setup:

  • We have a custom prompt
  • We shortened the custom prompt
  • We are running on chatGPT4o - we tested competitors chatbots who also run on chatGPT and they answer between 4 and 5 seconds
  • We switched of Unrelated Conversations + Prevent Offensive Messages + Remove apologies. This shortened the response time from 14 to 12 seconds. Which is still unacceptable.

Could you please look into this. As mentioned before we noticed slowdown of the chatbots about 2 - 3 weeks ago, and were hoping that this was just temporarly, but it is clearly not.

We are afraid that your software / resources cannot handle the massive amount of chatbots people must be creating with answerly. Or are your servers overloaded?

There must be a bottle neck somewhere.

Before you do any further things you need to work on this. As this could break the enormous success of your product.

We are currently not noticing any slowdowns due to the updates!

When this happens, it is almost always due to a partial outage with your AI provider such as OpenAI affecting your account or organization.

Partial outages may not be reported in status updates, so it can be difficult to pinpoint the problem ie to OpenAI.

From experience, these partial outages eventually resolve themselves, but our customers have often resorted to completely changing their API keys or AI accounts for a faster resolution.

Hey @Fatos , we did try out the chatbot on the Answerly website and is was exuriating slow as well.Alll our 6 chatbots, even the newly created ones are very slow, so I’m not sure if this get’s solved with new API keys.

Can you explain ab bit about what you mean with changing AI accounts for a faster resolution?

I also experience very slow response speeds of more than 15 seconds.

Hi @Fatos, we’ve got a message from a client today saying that their Chatbot is replying slow than before. So we tested few more accounts and we can confirm that Chatbots are indeed replying slow (about 10-14 seconds). How can we fix this?

Check if you have realistic thinking bubbles on; this might increase the time of the reply.
